Cannot Add Card to iPhone Apple Pay, This Card Is Already in Wallet

You’re here because when you add your card to your iPhone wallet, iPhone says card already in wallet but it is not there.

This happened while Apple is verifying the credit card details.

I got an alert “This Card is Already in Wallet”.

The card is clearly not in my Apple Pay, what is wrong Apple?!

How to fix this problem?

There are suggestions in Apple’s discussion forum about signing in and out of your iCloud account to fix this problem.

That’s quite a hassle, no?

Before you try that, try this solution first.

Change your iPhone passcode

  • Launch Settings
  • Select Touch ID & Passcode
  • Enter your passcode
  • Tap Change Passcode
  • Enter your old passcode
  • Enter your new passcode
  • Verify your new passcode

Once you changed your passcode, try adding your credit card back to your wallet again.

It worked for me, hope it works for you.

  1. I was told my an Apple rep that only Visa cards can be tied to the Apple Pay bank transfer feature. I kept getting the card already in Wallet message and the reason is I was trying to tie a MasterCard bank card to the transfer settings.
